Known as “yee sang”, Prosperity Toss is a raw fish salad with mixed shredded vegetables and sauces. A Lunar New Year tradition, family and friends usually gather around the dish and toss the salad together. The aim is to toss the salad higher each time, while wishing each other good fortune for the new year. It’s believed that blessings are woven into the salad with each toss, before being enjoyed by all.
